Privacy Policy

Foxie is a Chrome extension that lets you chat with Google's Gemini AI on any webpage. We built it to be private by design.

What we store

Your Gemini API key is saved using chrome.storage.local. That means it lives only in your browser, on your computer. It is never transmitted to any server we own.

Where your data goes

When you chat with Foxie, your message and the page context you give it are sent directly from your browser to Google (generativelanguage.googleapis.com), using your own API key. Foxie has no backend that sees your prompts or replies.

Analytics & tracking

None. Foxie has no telemetry, no analytics, and no cookies.

Permissions we request

• storage — to remember your API key locally.
• activeTab — to read the page you ask Foxie about.
• clipboardRead — to auto-paste a freshly-copied API key into the popup, so you don't have to.
• Host access to generativelanguage.googleapis.com — to send chat requests to Google.
• Host access to aistudio.google.com/app/apikey — to overlay a guided tour that helps you grab your free key.

Removing your data

Open Foxie's popup and click Forget my key. Or uninstall the extension — Chrome wipes its local storage automatically.
